Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Global Expansion

About the role

OWNDAYS is seeking a visionary CFO to drive financial strategy for its aggressive global expansion. Based at the global headquarters in Tokyo, you will work directly with the CEO and Board to shape the financial future of a fast‑growing eyewear retailer.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the financial strategy supporting international growth, new market entry and M&A activities.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, long‑range modeling and AI‑augmented financial analysis across multi‑entity, multi‑currency operations.
• Oversee accounting, reporting and statutory compliance (Japan GAAP / IFRS) and manage internal controls and audits.
• Optimize working capital, cash flow and banking relationships to ensure capital efficiency worldwide.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing finance team that partners with operations, supply chain and marketing.

Required profile

• Significant senior finance leadership experience, preferably as CFO or finance head in retail, consumer or D2C businesses.
• Proven track record scaling finance functions in high‑growth, multi‑entity environments.
• Deep understanding of international, multi‑currency operations and cross‑border compliance.
• Hands‑on experience with AI/ML‑enhanced financial planning tools or a strong drive to implement them.
• Authorization to work in Japan (visa sponsorship not available).
