ETCH Customer Support Technician II

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an ETCH Customer Support Technician II to join its team in Hiroshima, Japan. This full‑time position supports semiconductor equipment, performing Tier I procedures and ensuring high‑quality service for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform standard Tier I procedures including wafer measurement.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and wet cleans independently.
• Assist senior engineers with corrective maintenance as needed.
• Disassemble, clean and rebuild kits as part of kit management quality.
• Learn and apply diagnostic techniques using documentation and test equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve basic technical problems while following best‑known methods and knowledge‑management systems.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and good customer service at all times.
• Comply with all safety procedures and IP guidelines.

Required profile

• Physically able to perform demanding tasks such as walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 35 lb, and working in clean‑room environments.
• Willingness to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Ability to work in noisy environments and distinguish colors.
