ETCH Customer Support Technician II

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an ETCH Customer Support Technician II to join its team in Hiroshima, Japan. The role involves supporting semiconductor equipment customers by performing Tier I procedures, maintenance, and diagnostics in a clean‑room environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform standard Tier I procedures including wafer measurement and preventative maintenance.
• Execute wet cleans, disassemble, clean, and rebuild kits as part of kit management quality.
• Assist senior engineers with corrective maintenance and apply diagnostic techniques using test equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve basic technical problems while following best‑known methods and knowledge‑management systems.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and good customer service at all times.

Required profile

• Physically able to walk, stand, bend, lift up to 35 lb, and work in tight spaces and clean‑room conditions.
• Willingness to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (coveralls, hood, booties, safety glasses, etc.).
• Ability to follow safety procedures and IP guidelines.

Required skills

• Wafer measurement techniques.
