Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Onsite in Misawa, Japan

About the role

Arcetyp LLC is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its on‑site team at Misawa Air Base, Japan. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive primary care and supporting the medical readiness of U.S. Air Force personnel and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary care and patient management for an assigned panel, ensuring continuity of care and preventive health.
• Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, including history, physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as laboratory studies, X‑rays, and other imaging.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and prescribe medications in accordance with the Air Force Formulary.
• Perform minor surgical procedures (e.g., wound care, skin biopsies, joint injections) within scope of practice.
• Deliver women’s health services, routine gynecological exams, and family planning counseling when permitted.
• Provide pediatric care, including well‑child exams, immunizations, and treatment of common childhood illnesses when permitted.
• Address behavioral health concerns and coordinate referrals to mental health professionals.
• Coordinate care with specialists and other healthcare providers.
• Monitor and manage Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) metrics, immunizations, Preventive Health Assessments, Mental Health Assessments, and dental readiness.
• Conduct pre‑deployment health screenings and other readiness‑related assessments.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Experience in family medicine or primary care, preferably with military or federal healthcare exposure.
• Familiarity with military‑specific healthcare policies, procedures, and readiness requirements.
• Ability to manage a patient panel and provide comprehensive, evidence‑based care.
• Willingness to work onsite in an overseas location and support Air Force mission readiness.
