Referral Management Clerk (Onsite, Misawa, Japan)

About the role

The Referral Management Clerk supports the medical treatment facility (MTF) in Misawa by ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards, Navy regulations, and local directives. The role involves handling patient referrals, documentation, and participating in performance improvement activities.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, Department of the Navy instructions, and local regulations.
• Participate in peer review, performance improvement programs, and family advocacy initiatives.
• Respond to emergency patient situations, follow protocols, and document events accurately.
• Identify potential problems, intervene appropriately, and report unresolved issues to the director.
• Attend mandatory annual training, including disaster response, infection control, and CBRNE safety.
• Operate and manipulate automated health record systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentris, and the Clinical Information System (CIS).
• Assist in in‑service training for clinic staff and attend government‑directed meetings.

Required profile

• Ability to work calmly under pressure and follow established medical protocols.
• Strong awareness of legal and regulatory issues in patient care.
• Willingness to attend all required training and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Eligibility for direct‑hire (W2) employment; no H‑1B sponsorship, 1099, staffing firms, or C2C arrangements.
