Senior Associate – Institutional Non-Financial Risk (Japan)

About the role

ANZ is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Institutional Non-Financial Risk team in Tokyo. The role partners with business leaders, risk and control functions to manage non-financial risk across the International Institutional business, ensuring decisions stay within the bank’s risk appetite.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders on non-financial risk matters, providing insights and constructive challenge on risk themes and control effectiveness.
• Conduct risk assessments, monitoring and reporting, and escalate issues in a timely manner.
• Support regulatory change initiatives and maintain a regulator-ready environment through documentation and issue management.
• Drive the delivery and embedding of the PACT program, tracking progress and promoting adoption of new processes and controls.
• Collaborate with risk and control functions to build risk capability and promote consistent risk practices.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in institutional non-financial risk within a banking environment.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience working with regulatory requirements and risk governance frameworks.
