ETCH Manager III – Customer Engineer

About the role

The ETCH Manager III will lead customer engineers in the Kyoto district, building strong relationships with customers and acting as the primary interface with product divisions. This full‑time position supports Applied Materials' mission to advance semiconductor technology.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain customer relationships across all levels and conduct regular visits.
• Manage, coach, and direct district customer engineers, including salary and career planning.
• Lead account planning with the District Sales Engineer and provide support plans for system sales.
• Oversee system installation projects, from pre‑facility meetings to start‑up and process support.
• Execute escalation procedures, monitor the CSD Award and mentor programs, and manage RMA processes.
• Prepare financial forecasts, track cost efficiency, and report business results.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and people‑management skills, able to set objectives and conduct performance appraisals.
• Excellent problem‑solving and judgment within defined policies.
• Effective interpersonal skills for presenting technical information and gaining cooperation.
• Commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with Applied Materials’ global standards.
