Lead Specialist, Japan Learning & Talent Development

About the role

The Lead Specialist, Japan Learning & Talent Development will be based in Tokyo and serve as the primary point of contact for learning and talent development initiatives across Japan. Reporting to the APAC People & Organizational Development team, the role partners with local HR, business leaders and global colleagues to design, deliver and continuously improve learning solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the program lead for enterprise‑wide and local learning initiatives, managing end‑to‑end planning, stakeholder engagement, logistics and evaluation.
• Facilitate and co‑facilitate leadership development workshops, onboarding programs and other learning experiences both virtually and in person.
• Collaborate with APAC and Global POD teams to localize content, validate Japanese translations and ensure cultural relevance.
• Monitor program effectiveness through feedback, metrics and stakeholder insights, driving continuous improvement.
• Represent Japan’s business and learner perspectives in regional and global project discussions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in Learning & Development or related disciplines.
• Native‑level or business‑fluent Japanese and advanced conversational English.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a matrixed global organization.
